I mostly work with Miyuki Rocailles Seed Beads (not Delicas) in size 11/0, usually in transparent or luster finishes. These beads have a beautiful light reflection and a soft shine that make each piece sparkle just right ✨
Can I use other brands like Toho?
While Toho beads are high quality, DO NOT mix them with Miyuki in the same project. Toho beads are slightly thicker, so mixing them will warp your stitches and ruin the tension.
Additionally, Toho beads will not work with my 3D patterns (except for the beaded fish and the beaded crab). Because of the size difference, they will not fit correctly over the specified inner core bead or hard spun cotton ball diameters.
If you decide to use a different brand than Miyuki 11/0 round rocailles, the overall shape, size, and tension of your project will be altered.
You will have to experiment on your own to figure out the correct alternative sizes for the inner support beads or spun cotton balls.
